Species: Chumphon Red Vein
Age: more than 5 years

This is Chumphon’s species that is medium perennial, hardwood core, sharp slender thick leaves and red leaf stalk.

Kratom produced and collected several compounds, mainly Indole alkaloids group, the main compound is Mitragynine which was found in Kratom leaf up to 66% among of alkaloid extract. Meanwhile Malay Kratom usually found at 12%. (Takayama 2004)

- Mitragynine -

  • Recently study found that Mitragynine was used as pain reliever like opioid analgesic.
    ➢ Mitragynine interact with opioid receptors in the brain similar to morphine which was founded in opium poppy. Although effective of Mitragynine less than morphine approximately 10 times but the side effect of Mitragynine were reported less than morphine.
  • Used to treat diarrhea with decreased intestinal smooth muscle contraction and also inhibit gastric acid secretion.
  • Used to treat depression by stimulating the production of serotonin neurotransmitters.
  • When used at low doses, which stimulate nerves system similar to cocaine. Participants who
    consumed Mitragynine can feel more productive and still effective under the sun light or
    hot whether.
